I first got interested in RF technology way back in the 50’s. I used to build Crystal sets in the back shed. Listening to AM broadcasts from the other side of world filled me with wonder. My curiosity was aroused and though I did not know it then I was to make my work my hobby all my life. A very fortunate position to be in. Work has never been working. It has been fun for 90% of the time. If everyone could have the same experience - one of my purposes would be achieved.
My company when I was 18 was Skybeam Antennas which I managed to blow up after 26 years in business. At its peak it had 45 staff and an office in Sydney. However, during those 26 years I stayed home for some 4 years and had my 3 children. Did that in quick order - 3 in 13 months. It was a blast and a very efficient and satisfying way to have a family. I went back to work and grew my company some more.
One of the key things I learnt at this time is that corporate organizations have no ethics. They cannot have it as they are made up of paid individuals whose job it is - to make money for themselves and shareholders. If you are in their way, then they eat you up and spit you out. The law has to be used to correct any flaunting of the law. Take a look at the past 12 months and the discoveries which have come to light. The behavior continues unchecked. Is it getting worse? - not sure, but it certainly continues.
The future of this nation is not in multi-national’s hands or big corporation’s hands. They will not lead the way and provide an environment where community can flourish, the young look forward to a bright future, rather they will be working very hard to reduce dependency on people and encourage robots.
Innovation created by individuals with a more pan determined view of what is required will lead if there is to be a future that we all desire. It is with this view in mind I have been working to create a new piece of technology that not only works well, looks exceptional, competes on the world market, is tooled, manufactured, and sold in Australia.
